NAMA LOSES AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER, ANIEKAN INUK EFFIONG, TO DEATH

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, has announced with deep sadness, the passing on of Mr Aniekan Inuk Effiong, an air traffic controller with the agency.
The unexpected incident occurred at Abuja station, on Monday, the 22nd of November, 2021, at the Abuja Approach Radar Control Unt.
According to a media statement from NAMA, and signed by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Khalid Emele, Air Traffic Controller, ATC Effiong, reported to duty at the Abuja Approach Radar Control (TRACON) on Sunday, 21st of November 2021, at 6 pm, without any sign of illness whatsoever.
He was to close on his shift by 7 am the next day, Monday, 22nd November.
However, at about 4 am Monday morning, he experienced difficulty in breathing. FAAN ambulance was called in and he was quickly taken to the nearest medical facility, the Air Force base clinic, where he was later certified dead.
Mr Effiong was a hardworking and dedicated staff who died at the prime of his career. He will be sorely missed by the entire NAMA community.
Late Effiong at the time he died, was an Assistant General Manager, Operations.
