NCAA Will Stop At Nothing To Enforce Airlines’ Compliance With Regulations

Capt Chris Ona Najomo, Acting Director General, Civil Aviation, Ag DGCA, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, made this assertion at the interdenominational service to usher in staff for their first day at work in 2025.

He said that, “anything that will make sure that every airline complies, we will do. You can see recently we had to sanction some airlines and they accepted their sanctions” Capt Najomo stated.

He said going forward in 2025, more firm decisions would be made unless all the players are committed to playing the game according to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulation, and failure by any player in the aviation value chain would be met with commensurate sanctions as stipulated in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, NCAR.

The DG expressed optimism that more operator will toe the path of decorum and be more professional in the discharge of their business.

Capt Najomo said he was aware of the campaign of calumny against his person but chose not to be distracted hence, he unwavering concentrated on his task to grow the industry.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the renewed hope agenda, and the Aviation Ministers five points agenda, which he said had all propelled the NCAA to remain focused on its mandate and will not for even a second miss the bigger picture.

The acting DG said, “And let me be honest with you, what Mr President has done with his Renewed Hope Agenda and our minister’s with his five key points agenda, have provided opportunities for us to perform more”.

In the new year 2025, he said in concert with his directors who constitute his crew on board the NCAA’s flight cockpit, Najomo said “we are going to continue performing with the team of our directors on the ground”.

Capt Najomo announced that the NCAA had succeeded in enhancing the safety of the nation’s airspace with the recently installed state-of-the-art equipment that perfectly conducts safety surveillance of the nation’s entire airspace.

On the staff work environment and conditions of service, he said his management right at the on-set had placed a high premium, on workers’ welfare and had even entrenched payment of some allowances hitherto not honoured by previous administrations.

He enumerated his crew’s accomplishments thus, “we also have the flight data center. We have the CPD portal. We have the DATR portal to make it easier doing business with us and seamless too”.

The Highpoint of the event was the hoisting of the 25th-anniversary flag of the NCAA which, was performed by the Ag DG, to the admiration of staff present at the occasion.
