Nigeria’s First International Air Safety Seminar for 2021 In Feverish Pitch

In less than 72 hours, the banquet hall of Sheraton Hotel and Towers will be hosting, in compliance with the recommended COVID-19 safety protocols, intellectuals, technocrats and safety management experts, who will be analyzing issues, events and proffering foolproof solutions to the myriads of challenges that influence personnel negatively, especially those that culminated in near-miss, serious incidents and at times, accidents.
As at the time of posting, nearly everyone and corporate organizations that have stakes in air safety had confirmed their attendance both physically and virtually, at the first international seminar in 2021, that will dwell on, air safety.
The event is jointly organized by the Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB-N, and the League of Aviation and Airport Correspondents of Nigeria, LAAC-N.
The conference with the theme, “PREVENTING HUMAN FACTORS IN ACCIDENT OCCURRENCES, will kick off at 9 am, Friday, 15th January 2021, at the Sheraton Hotels & Towers, Lagos, with dignitaries such as the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, Special Guest of Honour, the Commissioner of AIB, Engr. Akin Olateru, the lead speaker, while the Director-General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA will present the keynote address.
Succinctly put, 80 attendees will be physically present at the venue, while over 250 other aviation stakeholders from across the world will be participating virtually.
Among those who have confirmed physical participation are, Engr. Akin Olateru, Commissioner/CEO, AIB; Capt. Musa Nuhu, Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA); Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and the President, National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), Engr Abednego Galadima
Others are President, Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA), Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), Aviation Round Table (AON), airline bosses, ground handlers and several other key industry stakeholders. Numerous others would join virtually.
The event will feature a panel discussion session with representatives of AON, NAAPE, NATCA and other stakeholders.
