NSIB begins investigation into an aborted take off at Lagos airport- Capt. Musa Nuhu

Bombardier Global Express 605 jet
A full-blown investigation has begun into the aborted take-off of a Bombardier Global Express 605 jet, operated by Pacific Energy Company Limited, at the Lagos airport on 4th September 2023.
The incident report was made by Olorogun Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, who reportedly received the incident report with concern and in turn, intimated Capt. Musa Nuhu, Director General Civil Aviation, DGCA, of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.
According to the media statement signed by the DGCA, of NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu, the incident aircraft was carrying Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and his team on a scheduled flight to Abuja.
Capt. Nuhu said about 48 hours after the incident, the operator filed a mandatory report on the 6th of September 2023 in accordance with Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations(http://Nig.CARS).
The media statement elucidated further that the “operator submitted the report through the new web-based National Aviation Safety Reporting System, SMS Pro, deployed by NCAA in collaboration with Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) in compliance with the provisions of ICAO mandated State Safety Programme and the Civil Aviation Act 2022”
The media statement reported the Minister heaved a sigh of “relief that the incident ended without any harm” hence, he assured air travelers and the general public that the “outcome of NCAA’s investigation and recommendations will be implemented in line with Nig. CARS and global best practices”
In the same token, the media statement signed by DGCA, also assured the traveling public that “it will double its efforts in collaboration with Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, to maintain and improve upon the high safety aviation standards set in the country over the past decade”.
It stated further that, “the Honourable Minister has on several occasions stated that safety of the aviation industry is the number one objective of his administration”
