Sabre Hosts US Embassy Commercial Attaché

Sabre Central and West Africa headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, has proudly presented to the public its customer support centre, operations control and training facility.
According to Sabre Chairman, Central & Western Africa (CWA), Dr Gabriel Gbenga Olowo, his two august guests from the United States Embassy, Mr David Russell, Commercial Attaché for International Trade and his colleague Banksharon, were conducted round the facilities at the CWA headquarters.
Dr Olowo, a veteran in Air Travel, hospitality and tourism management said over 80 local staff are in the employment of Sabre in Nigeria and across the region.
Olowo informed his guests that the Sabre faculty arm had trained over 5000 Nigerian travel agents in the art and science of travel agency management, especially in a digital world where the new normal in travel has come to stay.
Dr Gbenga Olowo also highlighted to the delight of his guests, Sabre’s rescue program to bridge the dwindling trained manpower arising from the ageing workforce retiring from the industry.
He said in an attempt to take the bull by its horns, Sabre entered into collaboration with a renowned tertiary institution in Nigeria, Babcock university, with the singular aim of producing the next Aviation Leaders with MBA qualifications in Airline Studies.
And quite an appreciable number of students had graduated from the program which exposed students to the practical aspect of the industry.
