As the Federal Government is putting finishing touch to the commemoration of the nation’s 60th independent anniversary, another patriotic and leading ground handling company, Skyway Aviation Handling, SAHCO PLC, has just looked inward into the rich repertoire of indigenous fabrics, and adopted one, an Ankara, as the uniform for its frontline operational personnel.

According to the statement from the company, “the introduction of the Ankara patterned uniform is to showcase the Nigerian culture to the world through the company’s day to day operations”

In the media statement signed by Adetola Vanessa Uansohia, (Mrs), Manager, Corporate Communications, she stated that, “SAHCO has always been proud to showcase Nigerian culture to the world through quality services to the clients”.

While highlighting the fabric’s quality and the aesthetics of its design, she said “the new uniform’s theme is a fusion of abstract shapes of orange and dark grey which are SAHCO’s brand colours, all incorporated in a Nigerian themed Ankara design”.

She expressed the optimism that, the uniforms will help create more awareness about SAHCO’s brand while also promoting

the rich Nigerian culture since the first point of contact to SAHCO as a company is usually through the front-line staff.

The statement reiterated that, while SAHCO is the first Ground Handling company to adopt Ankara design uniform, it’s not changing the entire staff uniform but the company is projecting the “Buy Nigeria to Grow the Naira” slogan and to promote the Nigerian cultural heritage and pride.
