Another intellectual material to help, media and public relations practitioners working in the air transport sector of the national economy stay ahead of their trade, would soon be unveiled for the general public consumption.

The material is a book with a difference. It’s not in the genre of works of literature inundated with pedagogues and theories that can only be proved from other formulas or statements rather than providing explanations drawn from practical and verifiable experience.

A cursory look at the sub-themes divided into 16 chapters and the depth of narratives woven throughout the publication makes it stand out from the motley of hurriedly assembled manuscripts which are often knit together with incongruous and jejune narratives.

However, the book titled, “Handbook on Public Relations Practise and Aviation Reporting” chronicles about 30 years of experience in media practice. And of which not less than seven years were garnered in aviation news reportage for the print media.

Another score and three years were dedicated to managing information and distilling various genres of events, landmarks, etc., by the regulatory authority into exciting news copy, in the form of media statements that inspired industry growth and cooperation of stakeholders.

Mr. Sam Adurogboye, author, and aviation media & public relations guru

A media statement by the publishers of the book, Saptco Communication Ltd, and signed by Mrs. Adeola Adurogboye, said “In putting together the book, Mr. Adurogboye seeks to enhance the professional proficiency of media managers, and Public Relations Practitioners, aviation lawyers, students”, among others.

Presented in elegant prose and rich in perspectives, the book tackles topics such as, “What is not public relations, Public relations and marketing of bad products, PR as a management function, My experience, Media relations, Bilateral Air Service Agreements, (BASA), Aviation reporting, Role of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, NCAT, My field experiences, to mention but a few.

The book will be available in paperback and hardcover to take care of all classes of readers and buyers.

The book will be unveiled on 14th October 2023. It is planned as part of the retirement program of Sam Adurogboye when he turns 60 and takes a bow from public service.

Adurogboye is leaving public service as the substantive Public Relations Manager of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, where he worked from its inception in the year 2000.

The public presentation of the book will be chaired by Pharmacist Kunle Ekundayo, the Managing Director of Drugfield Pharmaceutical Limited.

Barrister Allen Onyema, the Philanthropist, a notable supporter of intellectual efforts, and Managing Director of Air Peace, has accepted to be the Chief launcher of the book.

Several key stakeholders from the aviation industry agencies, airlines, academia, allied aviation services providers, Christian communities where the author is deeply rooted, family members, and friends are expected to grace the occasion and launch the book.

  1. Mr.Adurogboye’s efforts to come up with a compendium of PR practice particularly in aviation industry in Nigeria is commendable. I wish him a blissful retirement from NCAA as the GM, PR. He’s warmly welcomed to the Senior Citizens Club. Long may he live to enjoy his retirement in sound mind and prosperity.
