Second Batch of Pilgrims Arrive Israel Safely, First Batch Returns to Lagos Fulfilled

The second batch of 150 Christian pilgrims from Lagos State to the Holy Land of Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan, has safely landed at Israel.

Shortly before the departure of the pilgrims, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, admonished them to be good ambassadors of their families, Lagos state, Nigeria, and the body of Christ while in the holy land.

The PS explained that “it is a spiritual journey ordained by God for you to seek His Face for yourself, family, Lagos state, and Nigeria”.

Mr Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, urged the pilgrims to on the spiritual activities at the holy land and expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the pilgrimage and providing an enabling environment for the body of Christ in Lagos State.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, LSCPWB, Rt. Rev. Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson, encouraged the pilgrims to imbibe the prevailing spirit at the historic sites and use the opportunity to strengthen their faith and relationship with almighty God.

He also charged the pilgrims to emulate Christ by displaying character that would make them role models when they return home.

Meanwhile, the first batch of pilgrims on the exercise to Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan had safely returned to the country.

Expressing delight at the safe arrival of the pilgrims, Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, thanked God for a hitch-free exercise, noting that none of the pilgrims absconded. They were counted and no one missed.

He mentioned that the successful exercise was a testament to the efficiency of LSCPWB officers and thanked the pilgrims for their cooperation and patience, just as he pledged that outstanding services will always be provided by officials of the Board.
