Mr. and Mrs. Olatunji and Foluke Oketunbi receiving their marriage certificate from the officiating Minister
In a ceremony like that of the father of faith, Abraham, who the scripture says walked with God, and who also got a wife for his son Isaac, the veteran in the business of aviation news management, Mr. Olatunji Abel Oketunbi, LAAC Chairman Emeritus, has also in a similar vein, successfully superintended over a very modest and honourable marriage ceremony for his son, Mr. Olatunji Oketunbi, (Jnr), penultimate Saturday, at a ceremony in Sango-Ota, Idiroko express road, Ogun state.
The Holy solemnization was between Miss Foluke Adeola and Mr Olatunji Oketunbi Jnr.

At the colourful traditional marriage ceremony, myriads of gifts were presented to the bride’s family akin to the gifts Abraham saddled on his servants to Rebekah and her family. Genesis 24:22.
Just like the brother of Rebekah, Laban, saw and confirmed the ultra-high value gift of a gold nose ring, and bracelet of immense value Abraham’s servant handed Rebekah, Genesis 24:30; so were the guests witnessed assorted gifts in quality agricultural produce, tubers of yam, choice drinks, wine of finest brew, panache clothing materials, suitcases of various brands, among others too numerous to recount, that were deposited as a token of appreciation to the bride’s family. And in fulfillment of the extant traditional marriage contract which is also very legal and binding. And not when the consent of both families is publicly exhibited as was witnessed by guests present and by God almighty.

Recall in the scriptural account that all the entourage from Abraham to Rebekah’s parents were adequately entertained even the camels and donkeys were shown first-class hospitality by Rebekah and her sibling, Laban, Genesis 24: 53,54.
In similar modern times hospitality, it was extended in practical terms to family members, guests, and friends of the couple and their parents who attended the family-approved, government-recognized, and God-ordained holy matrimony between Olatunji Jnr and Foluke. At the venue of the social ceremony, guests dined and wined to their satisfaction. Few were captured on camera helping themselves to extras packaged for dinner at home or perhaps after breaking their “fast.”

In cognizance of the model Olatunji Jnr’s wedding was patterned, when the hour arrived, the bride Foluke, just like Rebekah -Genesis 24: 58- expressed with gusto, her desire to live the rest of her life with Olatunji Jnr.

Hence, Foluke rose, fed her husband, quenched his thirst, and danced with the love of her life. Like Rebekah rose and followed Abraham’s servants to Isaac, Foluke also rose and became one flesh with Tunji Jnr.
Thus, the simple arithmetic principle assumed an exciting dimension where one plus one amounted to one. (1+1=1) as Foluke and Olatunji Jnr became one indivisible and inviolable entity in the bond of love that is like a flame of fire as exemplified in the marriage certificate handed to the couple.

At NTH, we wish the young couple an exciting married life that will be blessed with divine favours, the fruit of the womb, and most importantly the couple cultivate reverential fear of God.
CONGRATULATIONS.
