Abayomi Omotayo Agoro Returns as 2nd Term President for Air Traffic Controllers in Nigeria

The umbrella professional and trade union body for Air Traffic Controllers in Nigeria, the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association, NATCA, has re-elected Comrade Abayomi O. Agoro, to steer the ship of the association for the next three years.

Comrade Abayomi Omotayo Agoro, at the election to climax the delegates conference in Abuja, garnered a total of 238 votes to beat his contender, Comrade Hussaini Jubril, who scored 175 votes thus, a total of 413 votes were cast.

Making a remark while receiving his Certificate of Return, COR, Agoro commended members for the matured manner they conducted themselves throughout the electioneering period, although the voting proper was done online.

He reminded members that the election had ended and urged them to close ranks so as to work unitedly as an indivisible, inviolable and insoluble family in order to unitedly surmount greater struggles that lay ahead of members and the association saying, “i implore all of us to know that the election is over and it is with one NATCA that we can achieve our lofty objectives”

Agoro told members not to hesitate to offer their contributions by way of advice, suggestions, constructive criticism and volunteering critical information that would make the excos be on top of all issues concerning members’ welfare and other issues concerning members career paths.

He promised that the elected leadership of the association would be vigilant on issues affecting members and stay ahead of challenges even before they rare their ugly heads.

Agoro pledged thus, “We will continue to engage those in authority to see that our welfare is taken seriously and we should also try as much as possible to rededicate ourselves to the profession”

In his remark, the re-elected General Secretary of NATCA, Rev. Felix Agbonlahor Osaruyi, attributed the returning of key members of the Executive Council to their offices, to the good work and dedication to duty during their first tenure.

Agbonlahor told journalists after being sworn in that the challenges during the first term were enormous but noted that the support from members made him scale through the challenges


He said his victory was a testament that people appreciated his modest achievement in the first term, and for the confidence reposed in him, he said had challenged him to be more dedicated in the service to members and the entire industry at large.
