President Muhammadu Buhari has been scheduled to jet out of Abuja tomorrow, Tuesday, 30th March 2021, for medical attention at a London hospital.
A media statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says the President will be in the United Kingdom for medical checks till mid-April.
The statement states that the President is expected back in the country in a fortnight.
According to the media statement, “President Muhammadu Buhari proceeds to London, the United Kingdom, Tuesday 30th March 2021, for a routine medical check-up”
Manifest at the Presidency as revealed by the office of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, states that, in the morning tomorrow, “the President meets with Security Chiefs first in the morning, after which he embarks on the journey”
It also made known the duration of the medical trip by Mr President thus, “he is due back in the country during the second week of April 2021.”
It is however assumed that the Vice President will stand-in for the President although there had been series of instances in which the Vice President was not reckoned with to handle some official matters in the absence of Mr President.
The nation had in the recent past, during the first tenure of this regime witnessed few far-reaching decisions taken by the Vice President on behalf of the President that were reversed.
All these created a pall in the nature of the formal relationship that existed among the two personalities as the majority of the citizenry view with trepidation the quality of team spirit that exist in both the President and his Vice.
The entire citizenry look forward to welcoming back Mr President from his medical vacation
