China’s home-made C919 Jet, currently undergoing European aviation evaluators’ test flights in Shanghai, China
China is breaking the ice by making a stringent effort to earn the certification and acceptance of the European Aviation Safety Agency, EASA, and ultimately the United States of America Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, with the view to entering the near cartel of aircraft manufacturing world. And thus creating a market niche for its home-made aircraft, the C919 Jet.
To this end, inspectors from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, EASA, are presently in Shanghai, conducting comprehensive checks on the entire ‘morphology’ of the Chinese C919 Jet production.
A statement by the manufacturers of C919 aircraft, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, COMAC, disclosed that “Two test pilots from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have started conducting various verification flights” with its C919 aircraft to ascertain the 21st century technology adroitly packed in the jet production.

The manufacturer of the narrow–body aircraft, the C919 Jet, COMAC, has declared its intention to make inroad to the West to compete with renowned brands. The statement avowed that China will succeed in capturing a significant share of the aircraft production, sales, and supply market.
Analysts in the aero engineering and jet production and marketing said China is eager to stand and be counted among global aircraft manufacturers, hence her persistence in inviting EASA to Shanghai and subjecting her C919 jet to scrutiny and make known the gaps if they exist and give the nod if found impeccable.
No doubt, findings from the ongoing scrutiny, good or bad, would surely provide the much-needed shot in the arm China mostly needed to break into the nearly closed-door business of Jet manufacturing.

It is expected that whatever gaps are identified will ultimately turn out to provide for China, the right path to a defined goal in its quest to make its mark in commercial jet manufacturing. Thus inching its way to joining industry leaders such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, among others, in the jet manufacturing business.
Meanwhile, a source close to the management of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, COMAC, disclosed that all senior pilots who are of Europeans and American nationals working in China have been deployed to help out in the demonstration flight of the C919’s reliability.

Recall that China extended its invitation to EASA to come and fly check the C919 jet and bring any open items in its manufacturing and operational reliability to the fore, for the world to come to terms with China’s prodigy in aviation and aerospace engineering.
However, the much touted inspection proposed in 2025, could not be done as the EASA leadership could not put itself could not resolve the heated debate the greeted the request which negatively impacted on the proposed check.

As the critical accreditation hurdle is being gradually surmounted, it appears that the year 2026 holds the prospects of China’s entrance into commercial aviation, particularly in the sphere of aircraft manufacturing.
