The Lagos State Ferry Service Corporation, LAGFERRY, has launched a commuter centric promo tagged, “Sailin N Smilin”.

According to the Managing Director, LAGFERRY, Mr AbdoulBaq Ladi Balogun, the promo in which the winner would emerge through a raffle draw, was to create awareness of LAGFERRY’s excellent service and encourage water transportation among Lagosians.

AbdoulBaq Ladi Balogun, while briefing the media at the Ikoyi terminal, said anyone who purchases a ticket and travel with LAGFERRY would earn a reward as a loyal customer.

He however added that the prime winner would clinch a brand new car while others would bag other exciting consolation prizes.

The LAGFERRY MD said the governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, had boosted the capacity of the boat company by increasing its fleet from 12 to 20 thus making lagferry the organization with the largest fleet in Nigeria.

He flaunted the enviable safety record of the state owned ferry service which had not record any serious incident or accident since its inception in 1983

Ladi Balogun however credited the regulatory body, Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, for the unblemished safety record saying “the regulator, LASWA, ensures that our captains, deckhand and other personnel are adequately trained to sail Lagos passengers safely,” he enthused.

Other evidence adduced for his organization’s clean bill of health on safety was the safe transportation of the Super Eagles to Benin Republic for the international friendly encounter.

The principal partner in the promo deal, Coscharis Group, who provided the star prize of the promo, said the company will be using the avenue to add value to water transport in Lagos state aside from making lucky winners proud car owners.

Coscharis Group General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Abiona Babarinde, who made the statement added that the partnership with LAGFERRY, provided another avenue for extending the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to more Lagosians.

The General Manager, Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, Mr Afolabi Sholebo, endorsed the promo as well-arranged and that it followed the due process whereby promises made to the consumers shall be delivered.
