LASDRI’s Being Reposition Through Human Capacity Development- Kamar Olowoshago

The professionals impacting the latest driving standards on drivers for the refresher courses have been tasked to develop engaging and compelling training modules, both for the virtual and physical platforms, to continually be ahead of trainees thus, earning the confidence of the motoring public who would have acquired added value from the training and continue to hold in high esteem, Lagos State Drivers’ Institute, LASDRI.

Mr Kamar Olowoshago, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, gave the admonitions over the weekend at the in-house training of the entire resource persons at the institute.

He said a superior training module will sustain the engagement of trainees who naturally should be looking forward to what the following year’s training will offer them in furtherance of developing excellent skills, knowledge and good public conduct as a professional driver in Lagos State

The Permanent Secretary charged the trainers who on that occasion turned into temporary trainees, to cultivate the virtues of a growth mindset and shun a fixated approach to knowledge acquisition as the world is ever dynamic.

He urged the trainers to justify “the unwavering effort of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration at having a well-equipped workforce and an excellent welfare package for the state’s public service and its workforce”.

Kamar Olowoshago stated that the training was designed to strategically reposition the institute through the development of its human resources to enhance road traffic and public safety in Lagos State.

Mrs Afusat Tiamiyu, General Manager, LASDRI, in her welcome address urged the participants to see the event as a think-tank seminar to chat about a new course of action for public transportation and also evolve a way of instilling discipline, good driving culture and sanity to the teeming motoring public.

LASDRI faculty members were taken through topics such as “Human Relations and Social Skills”, “Effective Tools for Learning”, “Business Model as a Solution to Revenue Drive for Lagos State Drivers’ Institute”, “Presentation Design as a Tool for Effective Teaching Aid” and “Vehicle Dynamics and Defensive Driving”, among others.
