NIGERIA’S BEST TOURISM GOVERNOR AWARD GOES TO BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWO-OLU

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has emerged the “Best Tourism Governor” among his peers in the entire 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, FRN, including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The organizers of the award, Avantgarde Tours Limited, in a statement by its Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Mr Efetobo Awhana, said the winners emerged after a careful and diligent scoring process introduced in the year 2020.
Awhana said there were other distinguished players in other categories found to merit the award and it shall be bestowed on those found deserving in their own right.
His words: “The most anticipated categories for the fifth edition will go to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as the best Tourism Governor; Chief Abiodun Odusanwo, Tourism Personality of the Year; and Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharm. (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile -Yussuf as the Best Tourism Commissioner”.
According to Awhana, other winners include Taiye Olayemi of the News Agency of Nigeria, the Best Tourism Journalist while Honourary Awards will also be conferred on the Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Tourism Development, Mr Wale Lanre Ojo; NTDC North Central Zonal Coordinator, Mrs Nanna Yakubu; and the Chairman, Delta State Tourism Board, Fidelia Salami, among others.
The media statement said the event will hold at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel in Lagos on 20th May 2022.
The organizers declared that “the 5th Edition of Nigeria Tourism Awards is a landmark as it symbolizes the growth and resilience of an industry battling for survival following the devastation occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic”.
Awhana said that the Nigeria Tourism Awards recognizes organizations and individuals who have sought creative ways to excel and grow Brand Nigeria, stating that it remains the most prestigious award celebrating innovation and excellence in Nigeria’s Tourism industry.
