YULETIDE: FAAN Assures Air Travellers of Safety, Comfort

As yuletide approaches, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has reassured air travellers and other airport users that her network of airports across the country is fully prepared for the usual surge in passenger traffic that is the norm during this season.
A media statement from FAAN revealed the airport manager is prepared to effectively and efficiently cope with the challenges peculiar to the surge in passenger traffic at festive seasons and even thereafter.
FAAN said security had been beefed up at all airports, especially the major international gateways in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano. The statement also said, “we have also put in place the necessary infrastructure to aid compliance with stipulated protocols on Covid-19”.
The media statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, said FAAN had assembled facilities that will enhance maximum comfort for passengers in all its airports especially at, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The statement added that the new terminals are fully ready to play host to esteemed passengers in a safe, secure and very comfortable ambience. “At our premier airport, the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, the VIP lounge has been renovated to enhance passenger’s comfort. The carousels are working optimally, as other facilities upgrade are currently ongoing”, the statement claimed.
The statement also said the narratives about other airports are similar because, FAAN, had put in place facilities, procedures and systems to ensure maximum comfort, safety and security of airport users during this season and beyond.
FAAN, however, appealed to passengers to please arrive the airports early enough to conclude in good time, all check-in procedures, taking cognizance of the added protocols occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Passengers are implored to avoid the heartache that comes with a missed flight, especially when both the airlines and the airports are bound to experience a surge in passenger and aircraft movement.
