FAAN Shifts MMIA Drop Off Zone to The New Terminal Frontage

Management of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, has shifted the regular Drop Off Zone at the departure frontage, to the frontage of the newly constructed international terminal to serve airport users, while the project lasts.
A media statement issued by the supervisory agency for about 22 airports in the country, the largest in Africa, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said the closure by all intent and purposes will be brief and temporary.
The statement said the temporary closure is to allow for the completion of the ongoing canopy installation works at the concourse of the old international building.
In the statement which was signed by FAAN’s General Manager, Corporate Communications, Henrietta Yakubu, explained that the shift “is to ease vehicular and human facilitation around the area”.
It added that covered walkways had been put in place to link the old and the new terminal.
The statement assured that the management will also open the new departure bridge to serve as an exit to motorists.
It appealed to airport users, passengers and other stakeholders to bear with FAAN and thereby to “please comply with directives from security and traffic agents that have been deployed to ensure orderliness and ease of passengers and vehicular movement”.
